Collecting political campaign artifacts is one of the many hobbies Principal Alan Beam enjoys doing. His favorite collector’s pieces are from the McKinley vs. Bryan campaign in 1896.
“I like to collect the William McKinley pins,” Beam said.
Beam collects buttons, plates, glasses, cans, pictures, and any kind of three-dimensional items used in political campaigns. Most of his collector’s pieces are displayed throughout his house, except for the few exceptions of bumper stickers and papers, which he has stored in tubs in his basement.
Beam even has a collector’s box in his office full of pins he has collected from the 1896 campaign.
“I even have a website of some of my collectibles,” Beam said.
Beam’s website consists of some of his collectibles, such as pieces he is looking for, for sale items, and some pictures.
