As you walk up to the corner of Quincy Street you are greeted by a colorful array of blue, purple, yellow, and green flags that guide you into the friendly atmosphere of the inside dining room. Friendly faces of waiters and waitresses greet you and make it a priority to seat you right away. The inside is dimly lit with multiple booths for comfy seating. The outside seating is filled with festive music and has a very homey feel. The outside has a breathtaking patio complete with a fire pit and benches for extra seating.
The service was amazing. We ordered our food and it was delivered less than 20 minutes later. Within an hour we were checked on by our waiter five times.
We ordered the Pollo Volcanes and Carnitas Gringas. Each of our meals came with a plate of five taquitos with guacamole. The plates are beautifully plated with complementary colors.
I would rate the Volcanes a four and a half out of five stars as the food was very good but the portions were a little small and did not come with any sides. The flavor was good and was overall an excellent dish. The Volcanes came with a hard tortilla shell and then was topped with your choice of meat and then to top it off was cilantro and lime juice for flavoring.
I would rate the Carnitas a five out of five stars. The dish was the perfect temperature when it arrived and was delicious. The Carnitas came with two large tortillas, the inside was filled with cheese and your choice of meat. I chose the beef Carnita and it was amazing. The cheese was melted perfectly and the taste was stupendous. The portions were bigger than the Volcanes but still did not include any sides.
I would rate the overall service a five out of five stars. The restaurant is staffed with amazing people and has the perfect at-home dining atmosphere. The food is worth the 15-20 minute drive downtown.
“I wasn’t expecting to like it that much, but in the end, I ended up loving the food and would definitely go back,” Brynne Liedtke.
“The food was amazing. I really enjoyed it and want to go back as soon as possible. I’m a really picky eater and I had an amazing time. It just has a feel-good vibe to it. I really recommend going there,” Shea Marney.
